Dhalai

Dhalai is Tripura's central hill district, with its headquarters at Ambassa on the national highway to Assam. Its subdivisions are Ambassa, Kamalpur, Longtharai Valley and Gandacherra. Much of the district is hilly and forested, with a large tribal population, and near Gandacherra lies Dumbur Lake — the reservoir of the Gumti hydel project and one of the state's best-known beauty spots.
