Gomati

Gomati district, named after the Gomati river, has its headquarters at Udaipur — the old capital of Tripura's Manikya kings and still one of the state's most important towns. Udaipur is home to the Mata Tripurasundari temple, one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, whose Diwali mela draws huge crowds every year, as well as the Bhuvaneshwari temple and the town's historic lakes. The district's other subdivisions are Amarpur and Karbook.
